Who is this guy?
After several disappointments during early childhood due to the fact that he wasn't permitted to take his crayons outside, Chris successfully sold op-art drawings to his third grade classmates which he created using fine line markers and a straight edge. Following a brief period of political cartooning and paper mache, he accidently set fire to his middle school art room while melting wax for batik fabric hangings.
Despite this setback, he continued to experiment with photography, painting and ceramics until he was accepted by the Rhode Island School of Design. During this time he also studied Ethnomusicology, Computer Science and American Civilization at Brown University. Constantly distracted by musical projects and multimedia endeavors, he received a BFA degree in Graphic Design by 1981.
Since then he has enjoyed a career as a graphics professional, which has provided him with extensive insight concerning the ways people view their environment in relation to their own personal needs and requirements. Through all of this, he has retained a gentle manner and an honest disposition, finding great satisfaction in the look on people's faces when they see something new or discover something they had not previously considered.
What does he want?
In exploring the purpose for his existence, Chris has found that the true measure of success does not come from outside the mind but from deep within, where the essence of thought originates. By cultivating a generous attitude concerning the gifts he has available to give, he has transcended much of the unhappiness in society.
In all that he does, he finds great amusement and exuberance, enthralled by the possibilities that constantly present themselves. Each day fills him with gratitude to have worked with some of the finest people in the world, and to have experienced events and occurrences he never would have dreamed of or expected.
He volunteers regularly for his church, the Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa, and also has given of his time and energy at Laguna Farm in Sebastopol, California. In addition, he has been a volunteer land steward for the LandPaths organization, and also has provided considerable service with the Sonoma Land Trust.
Where has he been?
Predominately living in the Northeastern United States, Chris relocated to Northern California during 2003-2011. He has also traveled extensively, visiting Alaska, Australia, and Canada. Through all of this, he has maintained a solid work record, and has been continuously employed in the following capacities and locations:
Freelance Designer 2001 to present, Sebastopol, California

Chris maintains strict dedication in all work related endeavors, and has been known to increase the quality and volume of business with every association he maintains.
What has he done?
Chris has won many awards in his lifetime, in recognition of his superior talents and qualities. He has been published in the Print Magazine Regional Design Annuals for the fine work he did for the Clarion Marketing Branding Announcement and Hyperion Software Employee Communications. He has also won the Business Marketing Association Award of Excellence for the Acuent Capability Brochure and Identity. In addition, the Connecticut Art Directors Club repeatedly recognized his work with the Silver Award for the Tempest Reinsurance Annual Report and the DMB&B Annual Report.
In many respects, these awards have given him an opportunity to confirm the validity of his creative endeavors, and to know that he shares a vision which is common to others. Yet he does not strive to collect trophies of his achievements, and finds that the satisfaction of a single client can mean more than the judgement of an organization of peers. In everything he does, he strives to communicate clearly and convey the essence of purpose.
Why is he doing this?
When Chris was growing up, he vacationed at the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. There was nothing that could compare to the vast expanse and the freedom to run and swim endlessly in the sun. One of the things he really enjoyed was to create constructions in the sand, and one of these constructions was a channel or track that a ball could roll down.
Starting at the top of a small hill, grooves would be made in the sand so the ball could roll down spirals, around curves, through tunnels and over bridges. Sometimes two or three tracks would be set up at the same time. With careful planning and modification, the ball could roll for quite some time until it got to the end and rolled down to the sea. That only meant more track could be added on to make the journey more interesting.
It's not so different with everything he does now. By planning ahead and having an objective in mind, things can still progress in very interesting and unique ways. When something isn't working right it can be nudged and changed to adapt to new challanges and situations. When everything is working together the result can be incredible. It's very exciting!
What is your problem?
The universe is huge, vibrant and thriving with a relentless inner energy and power that is living through us at all times, and Chris believes that by working together we can all identify that richness and allow it to grow. He is willing to listen with compassion and understanding. He certainly doesn't have all the answers, and he doesn't believe anyone will ever know them all, but he can help steer a project in the right direction and provide valuable tools to get where you want to be.
He would suggest that you consider what he has done and review the attributes that are consistently evident. He didn't work for some of the most successful companies in the world because he's undependable or lacks talent. In fact, he's noticed that these are the qualities others seek in him, and that he also looks for the same in them.
It's not enough to hack through a project or design something inferior that doesn't shine. The true nature of our being is to create and by going ever forward we get closer to the truth. By working with Chris you will realize your goals and discover how easy it is to increase communication and awareness.
